A day in the Life...

A day in the life of my 15 month old boy...

7:00 am: Wake up.  Let out a pitiful little whine to let everyone know you are awake.  Dada comes in and changes your diaper - so annoying, you hate your diaper changed.  You really think it’s best to be naked.

7:20 am: Pull Mama's finger to go outside.  Mama says no, something about it’s too early.  Get upset.  Cry and lay down on the floor while you scream.  (You learned this from your sister)

8:00 am: Eat breakfast.  A pop-tart with a big sippy cup full of milk.  You eat most of it - and what you don’t want, you give to your bff Coach who is waiting patiently at the bottom of your highchair.

8:30 am: Read your truck book.  Say "dat" at every picture so Mama has to repeat every name of the truck in the book.  Your favorites are the fire truck, motorcycle and school bus.  This goes on for at least 30 minutes – or until Mama says enough is enough.

9:00 am: Mama gets you dressed.  So annoying – clothes are overrated.

9:30 am: Mama finally lets you go outside now that you have your shoes on.  Play with the rocks in the backyard.  You really want to put them in your mouth but Mama keeps telling you no.  Walk over to the garden boxes.  You really want to play in the dirt – isn’t that what it’s there for?  Mama says no.

10:30 am: Go to the front yard.  Play in the driveway.  Push the 4-wheeler and hop off as you are still pressing the power button so it is moving forward.  So fun.  Mama says no.  You ignore her – you are tired of hearing her say no.

11:00 am: Go inside.  You realize you are starving.  You want pop-tarts again.  Mama says no.  Cry, lay down on the floor, scream.  It always works for sis.

12:00 pm: Eat lunch.  String cheese, strawberries, yogurt, goldfish and milk.  You eat it all.  You wonder - gezz, Mama, were you trying to starve me?

12:30 pm: Mama cleans you off from your lunch - she puts you in the kitchen sink.  She says something about how you are the messiest child ever.

1:00 pm: You are ready for a nap.  Mama takes you upstairs to your crib.  You snuggle with your blanket and go to sleep.

3:00 pm: Let out a pitiful little whine to let Mama know you are awake.  Mama comes in and changes your diaper.  So annoying.  Why is she always messing with you?

3:20 pm: Pull Mama's finger to go outside.  Mama says you have to wait until sister wakes up.  Be as loud as possible so she will wake up soon.  She doesn't.  Be even louder.

3:25 pm: Get your truck book.  Sit down in Mama’s lap.  Repeat “dat” at every picture.  When you get to the fire truck say “hi.”  This goes on until sis finally wakes up from her nap.

3:45 pm: Go outside.  Watch for school buses, airplanes and delivery trucks.

4:30 pm: Go the backyard.  Mama fills the plastic pool with water.  Chloe jumps right in.  You look at it suspiciously.  It's a bit cold from what you remember, and you aren't sure.  You decide to play with the rocks instead.

5:30 pm: Mama says it’s time to go inside.  That's okay - because you are starving.  She fixes you mac-n-cheese with peas.  You giggle because you are smarter than her.  You pick out the peas and eat just the noodles.

6:00 pm: Take a bath.  So much fun.  You copy everything your sister does.  Kick and splash Mama.

6:30 pm: Read your truck book.  Say "dat" at every picture.  This goes on for at least 30 minutes.  Say "hi" to the motorcycle picture.

7:00 pm: Your sister is making a train track.  Go over and see what she is doing.  She gets upset.  You don't understand - you just wanted to help.  She doesn't want you to.  You pull her hair.  Mama says no.

7:15 pm: Read your truck book.  Say "dat" at every picture.  This goes on until Mama says it is bedtime.

7:30 pm: Bedtime.  Mama rocks you upstairs in your room.  You snuggle in her lap and she combs your hair with her hands.  She says prayers to you and lays you down in your crib.  You look up at her lovingly as if to say, "goodnight, Mama." and she says, "love you, my baby bear, sweet dreams."
